How it works
A course is delivered through a Shopify product. When you link the two, Alva Courses watches for paid orders containing that product and enrols the buyer the moment the order is paid. One product can grant access to one course, and you can link several products to the same course for bundles.
Link steps
1. Open the course
In the Shopify admin, open Alva Courses and click the course you want to sell. Make sure the course is published, not in draft, so learners can access it after purchase.
2. Open the course settings
On the course page, open Settings. Find the Shopify product section, which controls exactly which products grant access to this course.
3. Select a Shopify product
Click to add a product, search your store catalogue, and select the product buyers will purchase. Choose an existing product, or create one in Shopify first if you do not have one yet.
4. Save the link
Click Save. The course is now linked to that product. To sell the course in a bundle, link more than one product to the same course.
5. Confirm automatic enrolment
When a customer pays for an order containing the linked product, Alva Courses enrols them automatically and sends the enrolment email. No manual step is needed.
What learners see
After paying, the learner receives a branded enrolment email with a "Start Learning Now" button, and the course appears under "My Courses" in their Shopify customer account. With the checkout extensions enabled, they can also start learning straight from the thank-you and order status pages.
