How-to
Show locked courses and free previews
Help students find their next course with a separate More courses section. Every buy link opens your Shopify product page, where your theme handles pricing, variants and subscriptions.
Choose who sees locked courses
- Open Settings → Appearance → Courses students don't own.
- Choose Locked to show eligible courses, or keep Hidden and enable individual courses.
- Choose signed-in customers or everyone. Everyone includes logged-out visitors.
These controls appear when the feature is enabled for your store. All plans can use it. Students see only the course image, title and start of its description. Locked cards never expose lessons.
Set a course's buy link
Open the course settings and its Access tab. Choose the store default, Show it locked, or Always hide. Send students to the main linked product, a different linked product or a safe HTTPS page on your store. You can add a button label. For membership courses, link to your join page.
A product must be active and available on the Online Store. Without a buy link, the course stays out of More courses. A product change can take up to one minute to appear. Products unavailable in a customer's market may still appear here; check the product page in that market.
The admin card is a static preview. Check the real storefront with a test customer account, or a logged-out window when the audience is Everyone.
Renew expired access
Renew links are on by default when this feature is enabled for your store, even if locked courses remain hidden. Turn them off with Show a Renew button on expired courses in Appearance. Revoked access does not get a renew link.
Recommend the next course
In course settings, choose up to three published courses under Recommended next and arrange their order. Completed students see them on the course page and in the certificate completion modal. Picking a course opts it in to this placement even if it is hidden in More courses.
Share a free preview lesson
Enable Free preview in the lesson editor and copy its preview link. Add that link to your Shopify product page or share it directly. Anyone with the link can read the preview, regardless of the locked-course audience. You can choose up to three preview lessons per course.
The course, section and lesson must all be published. Quizzes, reflections, contact forms, comments, certificates, live Zoom links and VdoCipher blocks stay unavailable. Previewing never records progress or completes a lesson. Supported hosted video and files work only while that lesson remains a public preview.
Shopify-hosted file URLs become public when shared in a preview and cannot be made private by switching the preview off. Anyone who already copied one can keep using it. Signed hosted-media links can remain usable until their short expiry after a preview is removed.
Read click and conversion counts
Appearance shows the last 30 days of clicks and attributed conversions. The last course offer clicked in a storefront cart wins attribution. A purchase counts only if it contains a product linked to that course; repeat delivery of the same order is not counted twice. Customer-account clicks count, but purchases from that surface cannot be attributed.
Counts are best effort: browser privacy settings and theme cart customizations can prevent attribution. Test a purchase on your store before relying on these counts.
