How it works
The Members list shows two dates for every member. Member since is the day the member was first added to Alva Courses; a member first added by a CSV import shows the import date. Enrolled is an enrolment date, and which one depends on the tab you are on. Both columns use your store's time zone and the DD/MM/YY format.
Which date the Enrolled column uses
On a course tab, Enrolled is the date the member enrolled in that course. On the All tab, it is their most recent enrolment in any of your courses, so a returning student who bought a second course yesterday counts as enrolled yesterday. Members with no date of that kind show a dash.
Sort and filter by date
1. Open the Members list
In the Shopify admin, open Alva Courses and click Members. Choose a tab above the list: All, a single course, or Unenrolled. The tab decides which enrolment date the Enrolled column and filter use.
2. Sort by a date
Click the sort button beside the search bar. Choose Member since or Enrolled, then Newest first or Oldest first. Members without that date go to the bottom in both directions. The default order is Name, ascending.
3. Filter to a preset period
Click the Member since or Enrolled filter under the search bar and choose Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days or Last 30 days. Each preset counts whole calendar days, and Last 7 days and Last 30 days both include today.
4. Set a custom range
Choose Custom range and fill in From, To, or both. Both days are included. Leave one blank for an open-ended range: a From date alone lists everyone since that day, and a To date alone lists everyone up to it. Dates entered the wrong way round are swapped for you.
5. Combine and clear filters
Date filters work alongside the search box, the Enrollment and Progress filters, and each other, so you can list members who joined before a given day and enrolled in the last 7 days. Each active date filter shows a chip such as Member since: Yesterday. Remove one from its chip, or click Clear all. Open a member and use the back arrow on their page, and the list returns with the same tab, filters, sort and page.
Date filters and CSV export
Export CSV does not apply date filters or date sorting yet. The file includes every member who matches your tab, search, Enrollment and Progress filters, and it is sorted by name while a date sort is on. If you start an export with a date view active, the export banner says so.
To report on a date range, keep the Member Since and Enrolled Date columns in the export and filter them in your spreadsheet. See Export members to CSV for the columns and the export steps.
Common questions
Does Export CSV follow the date filters?
No. Date filters and date sorting are not applied to exports yet. The file includes every member matching your tab, search, Enrollment and Progress filters. Keep the Member Since and Enrolled Date columns and filter them in your spreadsheet instead.
Which time zone do the date filters use?
Your Shopify store's time zone. Today, Yesterday, the last 7 or 30 days and custom ranges are whole calendar days in that zone, and the Member since and Enrolled columns show dates in the same zone, so a row always agrees with its filter.
Why does a member show a dash instead of a date?
The member has no date of that kind on the current tab, for example an Enrolled date on the Unenrolled tab. A member showing a dash never matches that date filter, and sorts to the bottom whether you choose newest or oldest first.
Why does a long-standing student show a recent Enrolled date?
On the All tab, Enrolled is the member's most recent enrolment in any of your courses. A student who joined last year and bought a second course yesterday counts as enrolled yesterday. Open a course's tab to see the date they enrolled in that course.
Does Clear all reset the sort?
No. Clear all removes the search and every filter, including both date filters, and returns you to the All tab. Your chosen sort stays in place; choose Name in the sort menu to return to the default order.
