Check the store and conversation
Open Alva Courses in the same Shopify store. Start a new Sidekick conversation, explicitly ask to use Alva Courses, and approve the app when prompted. Conversation approval does not carry over to a new chat. If Sidekick itself is missing, consult Shopify’s Sidekick help.
Narrow the question
Ask about one course and one student using the exact email address. For summaries, use a shorter date range. If Sidekick reports an unavailable or partial result, retry later or open the linked Alva Courses page. Do not interpret missing evidence as no enrolments, progress or email activity.
Common questions
Why does a completed student appear unable to access a course?
Saved progress can remain after access expires or is revoked. Check the current access status separately. If access depends on membership tags, check the customer’s current Shopify tags too.
Why can Sidekick not resend an email or grade coursework?
The integration supports reading records and staging enrolment email edits. Resending emails, changing access, awarding grades and sending certificates require their existing Alva Courses workflows.
Why will an email draft not save?
Check the editor’s validation message, field lengths, variables and link details. Confirm the store has an eligible plan for custom emails. For a changed-template conflict, reopen the editor, review the current version and reapply the draft.
What should I include when contacting support?
Email courses@alvaapps.com with your store domain, the task you tried, the approximate time and the visible error. Include the course name if relevant. Never send passwords or access tokens.
