How it works
Alva Courses adds its own storefront page at yourstore.com/apps/alva/courses, so there is nothing to build or install in your theme. Signed-out visitors see your published free courses and a Log In button; signed-in customers also see your Free With Account courses and every course they have bought. One Time Purchase courses are not listed there until someone buys them, so shoppers find those on their Shopify product pages. To surface everything, link your theme menu to the courses page, and to a collection of your course products for people who have not bought yet.
Surface steps
1. Decide what to surface
Choose what your theme should link to: the Alva Courses courses page, where learners open their courses and anyone can start your free ones, and the Shopify products that sell your paid courses, so new shoppers can browse and buy.
2. Group your course products
In the Shopify admin, open Products → Collections and create a collection that holds the products linked to your courses. This gives shoppers a single page where every course is on sale.
3. Add a navigation link
In the Shopify admin, go to Content → Menus, open your main menu and click Add menu item. Name it Courses, enter your store address followed by /apps/alva/courses as the link (for example https://yourstore.com/apps/alva/courses), and save the menu so it appears in your theme header. Add another item pointing at your course collection if you made one.
4. Or point learners to My Courses
If you have added the Alva Courses page to customer accounts (see My Courses in the customer account), you can link to that instead: in Add menu item, open the link picker and choose Customer accounts → Apps → Alva Courses. Either link takes signed-in learners to the courses they own.
5. Preview and check
Open your storefront, click Courses and confirm the courses page loads, then sign in as a customer who owns a course to check it is listed. Menu changes go live as soon as you save the menu — there is no theme to publish.
What learners see
Visitors who click Courses land on your Alva Courses page. Signed-out visitors see your free courses and a Log In button; once signed in, customers also see every course they have bought, with their progress, and open each one in the branded storefront course player with a lesson sidebar, progress bar and completion ticks. Paid courses are bought through their product pages and the normal Shopify checkout, after which they appear on the courses page.
