The storefront course player

Alva Courses is a Shopify app that plays courses natively inside your storefront. Enrolled students open a course from their customer account and watch lessons in a branded player — with a sidebar lesson list, progress bar and completion ticks. No second login, no external platform.

How it works

The storefront course player is the learner-facing side of Alva Courses. Course management lives in your Shopify admin, while students watch in your store. The player loads each lesson's content blocks in the main panel and records progress as they go, so they can pick up where they left off.

How a student watches a course

1. Open a course

After buying, the student opens My Courses in their Shopify customer account and clicks the course they want to watch. The branded storefront player opens inside your store, styled to match your theme.

The storefront course player: sidebar lesson list with completion ticks, a progress bar and the lesson video.

2. Pick a lesson from the sidebar

The player shows a sidebar lesson list grouped by section. The student clicks any available lesson to load its content into the main panel. Completed lessons show a tick.

3. Play the lesson content

Each lesson plays its content blocks — video, rich text, images, PDFs, audio or a quiz — in the main panel. Drip scheduling and sequential gating control which lessons are available at any time.

4. Track progress and finish

A progress bar and completion ticks update as the student finishes lessons. When the course is complete, Alva Courses can award a certificate automatically and email it to the student.

What learners see

Students stay inside your Shopify store the whole time. There is no separate course site or extra login — they use the same customer account they already have. Their progress is saved per course, so closing the tab and returning later resumes exactly where they stopped.
