Alva Video Hosting explained

Alva Courses can host your lesson videos for you. On the Unlimited Pro plan you get 50 GB of dedicated Alva Video Hosting storage with no per-video size or length limits — so full-length lessons stream right inside the storefront player.

How it works

Alva Video Hosting stores and streams your lesson videos directly through Alva Courses, so you do not need a separate YouTube, Vimeo or VdoCipher account. Unlimited Pro includes 50 GB of dedicated storage, and there are no per-video size or length limits — upload a short intro or a multi-hour masterclass and it plays inline in the storefront course player.

Turn it on and upload a video

1. Open Alva Video Hosting

In the Shopify admin, open Alva Courses, go to Settings, then Video hosting. The page shows your current plan and how much of your storage allowance is in use.

2. Turn it on

On the Unlimited Pro plan ($14.99/month) you get 50 GB of dedicated Alva Video Hosting storage. Click Enable Alva Video Hosting to make it the upload destination for your lesson videos.

3. Upload a lesson video

Open a lesson, add a Video block, and choose Alva hosting. Drag in your file or browse to select it. There are no per-video size or length limits, so full-length lessons upload as-is.

4. Save and preview

Wait for the upload and encode to finish, then save the lesson. Preview it in the storefront player to confirm the video streams smoothly for your learners.

What learners see

Learners watch your videos in the storefront course player, streamed directly from Alva Video Hosting. The player tracks watch progress and marks lessons complete, with no third-party logos or external redirects to pull them out of your store.
