How it works
Billing is handled by Shopify, so changing plans is a single approval. Upgrading from Unlimited ($9.99/mo) to Unlimited Pro ($14.99/mo) keeps all your existing courses and members untouched and switches on Alva Video Hosting (50 GB) and Alva File Storage (10 GB, files up to 500 MB each). Shopify prorates the difference automatically.
Upgrade steps
1. Open the plan selection page
Plans are changed on Shopify's plan selection page for Alva Courses, not in the app's Settings. On the Unlimited plan, open the app's Home page and, under Latest updates, click Upgrade on the Alva Video Hosting card or Upgrade to Unlimited Pro on the Alva File Storage card. The Upgrade to Unlimited Pro link in a lesson's Video block opens the same page. It opens in a new tab.
2. Select Unlimited Pro
Find the Unlimited Pro plan at $14.99/mo and click Upgrade. The plan card lists everything in Unlimited plus Alva Video Hosting — 50 GB and no per-video limits.
3. Approve the charge in Shopify
Shopify shows the new subscription charge and prorates the difference automatically. Click Approve to confirm. If you are still in your 14-day free trial, you are not billed until it ends.
4. Upload to Alva Video Hosting
Back in Alva Courses, Videos and Files appear in the app menu — reload the app if it was already open in another tab. Open a lesson, click Add Content and choose Video. In the Video block, open the Alva Video Hosting tab, then click Upload New Video or Choose from Library. Your 50 GB of dedicated storage has no 1 GB or 10-minute file cap, and the Files page stores course files up to 500 MB each. What learners see
Nothing changes for already-enrolled students. Lessons keep playing as before, and any new videos you upload to Alva hosting stream in the same storefront course player — only now you can post longer, larger videos than Shopify's native caps allowed.
