How it works
Progress is calculated from the lessons a student has completed in the storefront course player. It lives on the enrolment, so resetting progress means clearing the enrolment and adding the member back, while restoring lost access means re-enrolling the student so their record is active again.
Fix or reset progress
1. Open the course Members overview
In the Shopify admin, open Alva Courses, select the course, and open the Members overview. You'll see total members, completion rate, and a row for each student with a progress bar.
2. Find the student
Search or filter the member list by name or email to locate the student. Check their progress percentage, completion status, and enrolment date against what they report so you can confirm the problem before changing anything.
3. Reset the enrolment to clear progress
To start the student over, remove the member from the course, then re-add them with Add Member. The new enrolment begins at 0%, so they can retake the course from the first lesson with a clean record.
4. Re-enrol to restore lost access
If a student lost access after a refund or cancellation, use Add Member to enrol them again. Where the original enrolment is still on record, their existing progress is kept rather than reset.
5. Confirm in the storefront player
Refresh the Members overview to verify the corrected status, then ask the student to reopen the storefront course player and confirm their progress ticks and completion now read correctly.
What learners see
After a reset, the student opens the course in their customer account and finds every lesson available again with the progress bar back at the start. After a re-enrolment that keeps their record, completed lessons stay ticked and they pick up where they left off.
